127 What is the sixth petition?
127 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one, that is: By ourselves we are too weak to hold our own even for a moment. 1 And our sworn enemies – the devil, 2 the world, 3 and our own flesh 4 – do not cease to attack us. 5
127 Ever keep us strong with the power of your Holy Spirit, so that we may not be defeated but may stand firm against them, until we finally triumph. 6
128 How do you close this prayer?
128 For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
129 What is the meaning of the word 'Amen'?
129 'Amen' means: This shall truly and surely be! 1 For my prayer is more certainly heard by God than I feel in my heart that I desire these things from him. 2
